BAU, July 9: The 103-meter Buso-Musi Bridge construction project worth RM3.88 million has been fully completed.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Project Manager (Bridges & Wharves) of the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) Southern Region Office, Syahril Julaihi during a recent visit to the site said, as a result of the Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) inspection conducted by his party, it was found that the bridge can now be opened for public use.
He said, after inspection, his party will hand over the bridge to JKR Kuching which will be responsible for the maintenance and some improvements if any, from time to time.
“In fact, the bridge with a load limit of 15 tonnes will be repaired by the contractor in the event of any damage because it is still under warranty for one year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep who was also present at the programme, expressed his satisfaction with the development.
The Buso-Musi Bridge project was approved for construction by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during a walk-about in 2016 when he was the Deputy Chief Minister. — DayakDaily
