PAKAN, Oct 29: Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has started mobile ATM and counter services in Pakan starting October to provide more convenience to the people in the district.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the service operates once a week every Thursday from 10am until 2pm.

Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom said the BSN initiative will provide banking facilities and benefit the socio-economic status in Pakan District.

“This programme is also held to raise awareness about the risk of financial crime to entrepreneurs, associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil servants and the general public.

“It is hoped that the implementation of this network of programmes will be able to produce members of the public who are aware of the importance of knowledge and how to deal with financial crimes,” he said when officiating at the Financial Literacy Program and Operation of BSN Mobile Bank Branch held in Pakan on Oct 27.

Also present were BSN Sarawak director Amri Ahmad and Pakan District Office representative Yalin Assan. — DayakDaily
