KUCHING, March 4: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Serian branch reminded the public to consult with their doctor before getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
The branch chairman Brolin Nicholsion in a press statement today said many are doubting if the vaccine is safe or can cause any side effect, including whether it is safe for people with pre-existing conditions to get vaccinated.
“According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), it is good to consult the doctors first and do not listen to any hearsay or fake news. All the vaccines had been assessed by the WHO prior to its implementation,” he said.
Brolin noted there are various ways for the assessment such as early-age data, ideal efficacy, the potential side effects or adverse events.
He explained WHO has very stringent tests, including a lot of questioning (more than 300 questions) towards the manufacturers of those vaccines.
“This is to make sure we get the best, the safest and potentially the most effective vaccines when it reaches our hands,” he added. –DayakDaily.
