KUCHING, July 22: Sarawak Day has arrived at Parliament, drawing approximately 150 guests to a lively celebration.
In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) report, among the dignitaries present were Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, Senate President Dato Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, several ministers and deputy ministers, as well as all Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) members of Parliament (MPs).
The event, hosted by Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, aimed to honour the uniqueness and unity of Sarawakians within Malaysia’s diverse landscape.
Guests were treated to a variety of authentic Sarawakian dishes such as mee kolok, nasi aruk, Sarawak laksa, and kek lapis—dishes that not only delighted the palate but also reflected the rich cultural diversity that forms the foundation of Sarawak’s harmony.
Sarawak Day was celebrated not merely as a festive occasion, but as a meaningful platform to express unity, appreciate cultural heritage, and share a commitment to advancing Sarawak toward a brighter future.
The celebration also underscored the continued resolve to champion inclusive and sustainable development, in line with the ideals of Malaysia Madani.
