KUCHING, Feb 2: In a dramatic beachside rescue, quick-thinking beachgoers sprang into action to save a 12-year-old boy who was swept away by strong currents at Tanjung Lobang beach.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, they received call regarding the incident at 5.11pm and rushed firefighters from Bomba Miri to the location.
The operation commander reported that upon their arrival, the victim had already been saved by Muhamad Azrul Adman Mohd Adnan, 19, who was at the beach and happened to see the victim waving his arms and shouting for help at sea
Both of them were later given initial medical treatment by medical personnel from Ministry of Health (MOH) at the location and were later brought to Miri Hospital for further action. — DayakDaily
