KUCHING, March 1: “Bozz Jebat”, the pseudonym of Zool Amali Hussin, has issued a public apology to Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today after making offensive remarks against the latter when criticising the appointment of Dato Sri Tiong King Sing as the incumbent Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) in a recent controversy.
The former United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) member based in Negeri Sembilan explained that while he was expressing his criticism towards Tiong who is Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president, Abang Johari’s name was added into the mix due to the fact that the latter is the chairman of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition of which PDP is part of.
He said it is impossible for Tiong to become a minister in the first place without the approval of the GPS chairman unless the Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not respect the GPS coalition.
“However, I admit that the choice of words like ‘Is Abang Johari very stupid for choosing Tiong?’ is a bit excessive. Thus, I hereby apologise to Abang Johari,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Nevertheless, ‘Bozz Jebat’ stood his ground against Tiong, calling for the latter to step down from the ministerial post following a separate controversy involving the demotion of Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar.
‘Bozz Jebat’ further claimed that the video of him insulting both Abang Johari and Tiong that went viral on various social media platforms recently, was edited and later blown out of proportion by various parties.
“In the original TikTok Live session, I never insulted Sarawakians or uttered racist words,” he claimed. — DayakDaily
