Boy with special needs drowns in Sg Baleh

KAPIT, Sept 14: The body of an eight-year-old boy feared drowned at Sungai Baleh, here, was found by fellow longhouse villagers this morning.

State Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said the victim, Selvester Erukson Burung, was discovered at 7am about 30 feet away from the riverbank.

Selvester, a child with special needs, was last seen heading to the river at Rh Gawan Lepong for a swim before he went missing yesterday.

The incident was reported at 6.15pm, prompting a search and rescue operations (SAR) by firefighters, police and civil defense personnel. — DayakDaily
