Boy, six, falls to his death from second floor of apartment building

MIRI, April 6: A six-year-old boy died after falling from a window of a government quarters on the second floor at Tanjong Lobang.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed that the boy, Muhammad Razzan Madhani Abdul Hamid, had died from injuries sustained in the 2.15pm incident here today.

“The victim was in his room prior to the incident, while the mother had gone to the kitchen to do some work and preparing milk for her son.

“When the mother returned with the milk, she found the son missing and the window at the room ajar. She immediately looked through the window and found her son lying motionless on the pavement at the ground floor.

“No foul play was suspected in the incident,” Lim said when contacted.

DayakDaily, in its report earlier, mentioned that the horrified parents immediately rushed downstairs, while frantically calling for an ambulance following the incident.

Blood could be seen gushing out of the boy’s head when the ambulance arrived some 15 minutes later. He was rushed for treatment but pronounced dead at the Miri Hospital.

The police have classified the incident as a case of sudden death. — DayakDaily
