KUCHING, April 4: Border control and Nusantara’s development, along with Sarawak’s preparations, were among topics discussed during Sarawak Customs Department director Dr Ahmad Taufik Sulaiman’s courtesy call on Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, the courtesy call took place at the Premier’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
“The courtesy call was also to introduce myself as the director of Sarawak Customs Department,” Ahmad Taufik said.
He added that Abang Johari also touched on new carbon storage technology as well as the involvement of the department in terms of storage.
Ahmad was appointed as director on Oct 7, 2022, replacing Herman Shah Abdullah, who retired.
Originally from Pahang, he had previously worked in Sabah in 2018 as the deputy director of the Customs Enforcement Division. — DayakDaily
