KUCHING, Sept 27: A driver in his 40s was trapped inside his car after a collision with a pickup truck at Teku Road, Pasai Siong, Sibu this afternoon.
In a statement, the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre revealed deployed a team to the scene immediately upon being alerted to the situation at 12.42pm.
Upon arrival, the team found that the car collided head-on with a pickup truck at the scene, injuring the driver and trapping him in the car. A passenger in the car was unhurt and the driver of the pickup truck were uninjured.
The firefighters had to use special equipment to extract the trapped man. The driver suffered injuries to his right leg and was sent to Sibu Hospital for immediate treatment.
The firefighters hosed down the scene and officially ended the operation at 2.18pm after making sure the scene was safe for road users. — DayakDaily
