KOTA SAMARAHAN, Dec 6: Fire and Rescue personnel managed to persuade a 31-year-old man to change his mind from an attempted suicide here today.
The state Fire and Rescue Department operation centre received a call at 4.01pm regarding a suicide attempt in Desa Ilmu and firefighters from the Kota Samarahan fire station were immediately deployed.
“After arriving at the location, firefighters found that a man have locked himself inside a bedroom, while holding a folding knife.
“However, firefighters successfully persuaded the victim to open the bedroom door and took the folding knife from the victim,” the department said in a statement.
After the situation was brought under control, the victim was later handed over to the police. — DayakDaily
