KUCHING, Nov 2: A body of an India national who was reported missing after falling into the Batang Lupar on Oct 31, was found near the Triso ferry terminal in Meludam today.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, the body was found by ferry workers at 6.20am.
“The body was found 300 metres from the location where the deceased was reported to have fallen into the river, and was handed over to the police for further action,” it disclosed in a statement.
On Oct 31, an Indian national worker reported that the deceased had slipped and fallen into the Batang Lupar river while refueling a water pump engine on a barge at the Triso ferry terminal at about 5.30pm.
Following the incident, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was initiated by Saratok Bomba yesterday. — DayakDaily
