SRI AMAN, June 8: The body of a 52-year-old man reported missing from Rh Suyong, Stumbin, in Sri Aman since April 21, has been found along the route to his farm, within a 200-metre radius of where his motorcycle was last seen.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak stated that the search and rescue (SAR) team found the victim at 11.35am today, following the resumption of the SAR operation this morning.
The SAR operation resumed on Friday (June 7), 40 days after it was halted on April 28. It was assisted by sniffer dog Daisy from Bomba’s K9 Unit after the police found the victim’s motorcycle near the farm.
The remains were handed over to the police for further action.
On April 21, a missing person’s report was lodged after the man failed to return to the longhouse, having ventured out to collect bamboo shoots on the nearby farm in the morning.
He was last seen wearing a blue and green striped t-shirt, black trousers, and yellow boots.
The SAR operation involved various enforcement agencies including the police and the Civil Defence Force (APM), along with villagers. — DayakDaily
