Body of 34yo man reported to have fallen off Sg Maong Bridge found

KUCHING, Nov 1: The body of 34-year-old Aliff Fadzree Azlam who was reported missing after falling into the river from Sungai Maong Bridge near Kampung Gita Lama here, was found today.

According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the second day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate the victim began at 6.30am today, covering a size of 5km radius including Satok Bridge.

At 3.50pm, the victim’s body was located approximately 50 metres from the presumed location of his fall and brought ashore for identification.

At 4pm, the body was handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action, and the SAR operation was officially concluded at 4.50pm.

Based on a previous report, Bomba received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.52am yesterday (Oct 31).

It was believed that the victim went up the bridge and fell into the river. His wife and two children were also present at the location. — DayakDaily
