Body of 26yo man feared drowned in Sg Bintangor found

SARIKEI, Aug 4: The body of a 26-year-old man who was feared to have drowned after falling into the river near SK Nanga Wak, Bintangor, was found.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim was identified as Muhamad Ikram Imran.

It was reported that the victim, who went fishing with two friends yesterday (Aug 3), fell into the river from a boat when trying to release a fishing line that was stuck onto something inside the river.

His friends failed to locate the victim and called Bomba for help around 11.45am.

The search and rescue (SAR) team finally found the victim’s body at 7.51pm last night (Aug 3), about 50 metres from the Bomba operations control centre at the location.

The remains were later handed over to the police and sent to Sarikei Hospital for further action. — DayakDaily
