BINTULU, Oct 28: The body of 21-year-old Ilron Dennis who was reported missing after falling into a river near Jalan Sungai Nyigu, Bintulu here on Oct 26, was found this morning.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the second day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate the victim began at 8.04am today, with six members of the Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) from Bintulu Fire Station (BBP), led by operation commander PBK II Shukri Salleh.
The team utilised a Hilux utility vehicle and an aluminium boat to conduct the search.
At 9.59am, the victim was located approximately 300 metres from the presumed location of his fall and brought ashore for identification with police assistance.
At 10.30am, the body was handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action, and the SAR operation was officially concluded at 10.43am.
Based on a previous report, Bomba received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.43pm on Saturday (Oct 26).
According to witnesses, the victim allegedly fell into the river between a jetty and a sand barge. — DayakDaily
