SIBU, Dec 27: The body of an 18-month-old boy who was feared drowned has been found in a ditch in Jalan Kwong Ming today.
The boy has been identified as Sia Chin Hang.
A spokesman for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said that the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received an emergency call regarding the incident at 1.24pm.
“Preliminary information received states that there is a drowned child at that location,” said the spokesperson.
Using a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) machine, ten firefighters from BBP Sungai Merah rushed to the scene to conduct a search and rescue operation.
This led to the finding of the body in the drain at about 3pm.
The body has been referred to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
