KUCHING, Aug 21: A body believed to be a missing man feared drowned on Saturday was found by members of the public in Sungai Batang Igan today.
According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, the body was found at 8.40am, about 9.6 kilometer from Sibu Wharf where a man had fallen into the river on Saturday (Aug 19).
The remains were handed over to the police for further action and the identification process will be conducted by a family member at Sibu Hospital.
On Aug 19, a man was feared drowned after he fell into the river near Sibu Wharf. The man who was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants, was lifting items into an express boat before falling into the river. — DayakDaily
