Bintulu racks up 81 cases as Sarawak records 432 cases and 3 fatalities

KUCHING, April 27: Bintulu reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the state as Sarawak registered 432 new coronavirus cases and three fatalities today.

According to reports from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, Bintulu reported 81 new cases of Covid-19, followed by Bukit Mabong with 64 cases, Miri (60), Sibu (53), Kanowit (46), Selangau (23), Mukah (23), Kuching (21), Matu (10), Julau (8), Marudi (6), Sebauh (6), Lundu (4), Sri Aman (3), Sarikei (3), Subis (3), Pakan (3), Serian (2), Lubok Antu (2), Bau (2), Meradong (2), Betong (2), Belaga (1), Tatau (1), Beluru (1), Saratok (1) and Telang Usan (1).

These new cases raised the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 28,961.

There was also an imported case which involved an individual returning from Yemen.

Meanwhile, the three casualties reported today brings the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak to 165.

There were 610 Covid-19 patients who recovered and were discharged from hospitals and low risk quarantine centres throughout the state today.

A total of 5,685 Covid-19 patients are still being treated at various health facilities throughout Sarawak.

There were 432 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases with no Covid-19 swab test results pending. — DayakDaily
