KUCHING, April 27: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd’s (BPHB) operating revenue in 2022 has increased by 8.63 per cent or RM791.56 million as compared to 2021.
According to BPHB chairman Dato Abdul Mutalib Alias, in 2022, BPHB also achieved several corporate milestones including the commencement of additional export lines at Biport Bulkers (BBSB), the maiden voyage of vessel Tiger Bintulu at Bintulu International Container Terminal (BICT), and the 10th year anniversary of Samajalu Industrial Port Sdn Bhd (SIPSB).
“The group also exceeded the 50 million tonnes mark for the first time since its commencement,” he said during a press conference held after BPHB’s 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at a local hotel, here today.
He added BPHB total cargo annual throughput volume in 2022 has also increased by 7.6 per cent to 50.73 million tonnes compared to 47.16 million tonnes in 202.
He said it is mainly driven by LNG (liquefied natural gas) throughput and volume expansion in non-LNG Cargo.
