BINTULU, Feb 2: In the wake of the devastating floods that have affected the Bintulu parliamentary and Dudong state constituencies, Bintulu MP and Dudong assemblyman Dato Seri Tiong King Sing has publicly apologised for his delayed responses to Chinese New Year (CNY) greetings and messages from residents, citing the overwhelming demands of disaster relief efforts.
In a Facebook post today, Tiong said the Bintulu parliamentary and Dudong state constituencies are among the worst-affected areas in the recent flood disaster, leaving many residents struggling just as they were preparing to celebrate CNY.
Thus, he and his team are doing their utmost in disaster relief and rebuilding efforts, noting that the scale of the flood has been overwhelming, affecting a vast area and a large number of victims.
“Throughout this process, we have found ourselves overwhelmed, exhausted, and even disoriented at times.
“I sincerely apologise for not being able to personally respond to the many CNY greetings and messages of concern from our fellow residents during this period.
“Please know that I have received them all and deeply appreciate the warmth and kindness,” he wrote.
Tiong further emphasised that the support from residents has provided him and his team with the strength and confidence to continue their work.
“Your blessings give me the strength to persevere. Your encouragement gives me the confidence to overcome these challenges,” he added.
He concluded by offering his heartfelt wishes for good health, peace, and prosperity in the New Year, while expressing hope for favourable weather and harmony moving forward. – DayakDaily
