BINTULU, March 26: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Jepak will be holding a fundraising drive here to assist frontline medical staff and address the shortage of medical protection equipment.
Its chairman Tonny Ung revealed they will be collaborating with Persatuan Pendidikan Kesihatan dan Keselamatan Pekerja Bintulu (PPKKPB) for the event to ensure medical staff on the frontlines can receive the protection that they deserve.
“After discussion with PPKKPB chairman Vincent Lau, (it is noted that) every citizen is responsible for the safety and health of these current medical staff, and for that, PPKKPB will help to obtain the protection equipment through the strength of its own network.
“The immediate outcome is the mission’s aims and objectives can be more effectively accomplished through the fundraising drive,” he added.
Ung, who is also the organising chairman for the said fundraising drive, hoped that the masses in Bintulu would be able to participate in the event.
He pointed out that it is better for everyone to contribute at their personal capacity in efforts to curb the problem of shortages instead of criticising the government.
“Anyone who wishes to donate may transfer the funds to Persatuan Pendidikan Kesihatan Dan Keselamatan Pekerja Bintulu through Affin Bank Berhad account number 10-084-004542-6.
“Any inquiries, can be forwarded to 0168094400 (Vincent) and 0138303885 (Ung), or email to PPKKPB.secretariat@gmail.com, and the association will thereafter send the receipt to the donors as a proof,” he added.
A total of RM6,000 has already been donated by Ung, PPKKPB chairman Vincent Lau, and an individual named Lee. — DayakDaily
