Bintulu firefighters pull woman suspected to be suicidal to safety

BINTULU, Feb 20: Timely intervention by a team of Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel saved a 29-year-old local woman who was suspected to be suicidal earlier this afternoon.

A team of eight firefighters were deployed to the scene after receiving an alert that the woman had been spotted on the third floor of a building in Medan Central Bintulu acting suspiciously and appeared to be about to jump off the building around 12.42pm.


The Bomba team immediately rushed to the location and began to engage the woman in conversation.

Eventually they managed to occupy her attention and get closer to her.

Once she was within reach, the firefighters immediately grabbed her and brought her to safety.

The woman was then handed over to the police for further action.

Also seen at the location throughout the incident were police, ambulance and Bintulu Civil Defence Force personnel. — DayakDaily
