Bintulu Development Authority contributes RM1 million to state disaster fund

KUCHING, July 2: Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) has stepped forward to contribute RM1 million towards the State Disaster Fund (SDF).

BDA board of directors deputy chairman Haidar Khan Asghar Khan handed over the mock cheque to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during a brief ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

According to a press release, the contribution was meant to assist and support the Sarawak government’s efforts in fighting and managing the Covid-19 pandemic.


Meanwhile, SDF received a boost on June 4 after the State government announced that Sarawak’s cabinet ministers, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) lawmakers and political secretaries will contribute two months’ worth of their salaries and allowances.
