SIBU, Dec 23: A woman and her mother were lucky to escape with no serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a four-wheel-drive vehicle in Bintangor on Saturday (Dec 21) night.

The accident was near the spot where an 18-year old motorcyclist from Kpg Darul Falah, Sungai Gemuan succumbed to a serious neck injury after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on Dec 19.

On the latest incident, Bintangor District Police chief, DSP Sekam Anoi disclosed at about 7.10pm, the 47-year-old driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle was travelling from town towards his home at Taman Muhibbah.

“He was about to make a turn at Jalan Despensari when suddenly a motorcycle ridden by a woman from the opposite direction rammed into the left side of the vehicle,” he added.

The impact of the collision threw both the motorcycle rider and pillion rider off the machine.

It is suspected that the accident occurred as the headlight of the motorcycle was not on.
