KUCHING, May 5: The original singer of the popular hit ‘Biar Bekikis Bulu Betis’, Penghulu Andrewson Ngalai Asom, has lodged a police report on individuals uploading the song without permission.
In a statement on Facebook yesterday (May 4), Ngalai said as the original composer and lyricist of the song, he has never given any individuals or recording company permission to produce a new record or video clip using the song.
“Action will be taken based on Malaysia’s copyright act. I requested to all individuals or the company involved that uploaded the song produced by ANP Music Production to take everything out (sic) or risk facing legal action,” he said.
Ngalai added that on behalf of ANP Music Production, he has appointed lawyer Augustine Lium to monitor and take appropriate legal action against anyone producing pirated copies of the song. — DayakDaily
