KUCHING, Aug 30: Betong Divisional Health Office (PKB) received fingertip pulse oximeters from the State government as part of efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the district.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, the oximeters were contributed by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah following an increase in Covid-19 cases reported in the district.

“Since the emergence of the Bungei 2 Cluster, Betong has recorded a spike in the number of cases with a total of 582 cases reported (Aug 28), which requires adequate equipment and facilities in Betong PKB,” the report said.

The contribution was handed over by a N.37 Bukit Saban service centre representative to Betong PKB health inspector Zalimi Lidin yesterday.

Also yesterday (Aug 29), the Kampung Bungei 2 Cluster recorded 32 new local infections, pushing the total number of cases reported from the cluster to 614.
