BETONG, July 3: The Betong Food and Art Festival (BeFA Fest) has been proposed to be included in the Sarawak Tourism Calendar.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan acknowledged that the festival is one of the efforts to promote food, local products, and cultural arts in Betong.
“Apart from that, BeFA Fest aims to make local cuisine as part of the efforts to promote Betong among visitors,” he said during the closing ceremony of BeFA Fest 2023 at Tasik Medan compound yesterday (July 2).
For the record, 103 food and craft stalls were set up at the festival.
Also present were Betong MP Dr Richard Rapu; Betong Resident Richard Michael Abunawas; and permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datu Sherrina Hussaini. — DayakDaily
