KUCHING, Oct 11: A total of 72 projects have been approved by the Sarawak government through the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) as of September this year.
According to a TVS news report, BDDA Steering Committee deputy chairman Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu stated that these projects, amounting to RM1,428,700, primarily encompass agricultural initiatives and farm road expansions.
“Out of the 72 projects, a few have been completed, including farm and orchard road projects, which benefit farmers in the Betong Division,” he said.
He shared this update following the BDDA Steering Committee meeting held yesterday (Oct 10) at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.
The meeting served to discuss and review reports from implementing agencies on all ongoing projects in the division.
Gerald, who is also Layar assemblyman, mentioned that BDDA is currently refining project implementation procedures concerning agricultural inputs in the Betong Division.
“This is to ensure that all projects related to agricultural inputs are executed according to the specifications and timeline set by BDDA,” he added.
Also present at the meeting were Betong MP Dr Richard Rapu and the political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Roseline Mapong Sabai. — DayakDaily
