Belaga and Kanowit pushed into the red, Lawas improves to green zone status

KUCHING, April 18: Belaga and Kanowit were declared Covid-19 red zones today following increases in Covid-19 cases recorded while Lawas improved to green zone status.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, both Belaga and Kanowit recorded a total of 45 and 56 cases respectively over the previous 14 days.

ā€œThis brings the total number of districts in the red zone status to 18 districts, with only six districts in orange zone status as of today,ā€ it said.

Pusa was pushed into yellow zone status from green after recording one infection today.

ā€œAt the same time, Lawas was declared a green zone as zero new infection cases were reported in the past two weeks,ā€ the statement added.

As of today, the 18 districts with red zone status are Belaga, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Matu, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Julau, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu.

Six districts namely Betong, Asajaya, Bukit Mabong, Sebauh, Sri Aman, and Marudi are orange zones, while Pusa, Song, Bau, Kabong, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tatau, Tanjung Manis, Pakan, Tebedu and Limbang are yellow zones.

With the addition of Lawas today, Telang Usan, Lundu and Simunjan are the other districts that are currently green zones. ā€” DayakDaily
