BDDA approves projects worth RM60 mln to help solve flood issues plaguing Saribas

KUCHING, Jan 12: The Betong Divisional Development Agency (BDDA) has approved a canal construction project and flood mitigation project worth a total of RM60 million to address the flood issues in Saribas constituency.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Saribas assemblyman Mohamad Razi Sitam has submitted the proposal for both projects to the Betong Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID).

He said the first project will be implemented in Debak area while the second project will be undertaken in the villages along Sungai Saribas.


Razi told this to reporters after chairing a meeting over the proposal for the flood mitigation project and sand digging activities held in Tanjung Assam Village, Spaoh, on Wednesday (Jan 11).

He added that a total of 11 villages will be involved for the second project. — DayakDaily
