KUCHING, Aug 3: Over 90 specially curated vegan dishes will be served to delegates during the Asia for Animals (AfA) 2023 Conference at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from Oct 11 to 14.
BCCK Sous Chef Lester Antija Dawen, who unveiled their latest array of plant-based vegan dishes for the conference shared that Sarawak has an abundance of indigenous vegetables and products.
“During the conference, we aim to showcase creative dishes using native produce only available in Borneo,” he said in a statement today.
“Our dishes are inspired by nature, infused with natural-made sauces and condiments, cooked using open fire and even using bamboo for some dishes to deliver that authentic flavor,” he further disclosed.
The AfA Conference is organised by the Asia for Animals Coalition together with the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) and supported by Business Events Sarawak.
The conference will cover five main areas, namely human and animal health; communication; education and research; animal and human interaction; wildlife trade; and rescue centres and animals in captivity.
Registration for AfA 2023 is now open, with CPD points available.
