The kiosk will operate from Thursday to Sunday (9am to 3pm) and will be temporarily manned by councillors from Bau District Council (BDC) until permanent staff are recruited.

At the launch of the kiosk today, Abdul Karim pointed out that it was included in the blueprint of Greater Bau 2030 and has been planned about five years back.

“The availability of such a facility will further enhance tourism activity in the area to increase socio-economic status of the locals,” Abdul Karim said.

He was represented by Deputy Minister of Transport II Dato Henry Harry Jinep, who is Tasik Biru assemblyman.

Abdul Karim said the kiosk will also help to promote tourism products of the locals and urged them to provide the kiosk with such information.

He said for the time being, 30 destinations will be available in the brochures on display in the kiosk which will be translated into two languages: English and Mandarin.

According to him, more destinations will be included in the future.
