KUCHING, Aug 5: A pillion rider died on the spot, after she fell from the motorcycle she was travelling on and was subsequently hit by two other vehicles which were travelling in the same lane.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu revealed the 41-year-old housewife from Kampung Segong, Singgai, Bau was travelling with her husband, 50, and their child, 11, along Batu 5, Jalan Matang when the incident happened at about 12.20pm this afternoon.
“Initial investigation revealed that as they were near Cangiran Driving Institute, the victim’s husband suddenly lost control of the motorcycle.
“The victim then fell on road before she was hit by two other vehicles who were in the same lane,” Alexson added.
Her husband and child escaped injuries.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
