KUCHING, May 22: The Bario-Pa’Dalih road is closed for repair works after a landslide cut-off road connectivity in the area.
Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report today (May 22) said that on Friday, SPJL Construction and Engineering Sdn Bhd in a press statement revealed the road closure and are working on constructing alternative routes for motorists.
“The landslide in Bario has affected the main connecting road from Bario to Pa’Dalih, which also leads to Miri city.
“The road closure is for the purpose of repairing the road along KM6.62, from Bario airport junction until Pa’Dalih road, where the landslide occurred on May 20,” it said.
According to the news report, SPJL Construction and Engineering Sdn Bhd are currently constructing an alternative route through Marvin quarry road.
It said the completion of the repair works is estimated to take a few weeks, depending on the weather.
“As such, road users in the area are advised to plan their journey ahead in order to avoid any difficulties,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
