Bandaraya Miri Health Clinic physically completed, awaits ‘green light’ for passenger lift

KUCHING, May 23: Bandaraya Miri Health Clinic (Type 2) has been physically completed and is presently awaiting approval for the passenger lift.

Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, said the clinic’s physical construction reached completion in December last year.


“It is currently in the process of obtaining approval for the passenger lift from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH),” he said when delivering his ministerial winding-up speech at Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today.

Dr Sim who is also Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak, further said that the Nanga Kemalih Health Clinic in Sarikei (Type 6) has also reached physical completion but its operation is subjected to the completion of the rectification works.

The next health facility to complete within the next month would be Siburan Health Clinic (Type 3) where its physical progress as of April 25, is 94.92 per cent.

For the construction of additional block in Miri Hospital, the physical progress is at 58.25 per cent and is now scheduled to complete in April 2024.

Meanwhile, the overall physical progress of Petra Jaya Hospital in Kuching is at 55.62 per cent and is now scheduled to complete in November 2024.

The new Lawas Hospital on the other hand, is currently progressing at 25.90 per cent and is now scheduled to complete in December 2024.
