KUCHING, April 9: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii will be engaging with local contractors to upgrade the facilities in Tanah Puteh Health Clinic.

Dr Yii in a statement today said during his visit to the clinic together with Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong recently, they received multiple complaints from members of the public regarding the condition of its facilities, especially the toilets.

“So we will be looking at engaging a few contractors to view the toilets, to draw up proper plans and a quotation to upgrade the toilets.

“From there my office will allocate some funds for it including for the need to upgrade some of the piping in the clinic.

“We want to ensure that the staff and patients get the best possible facilities during their visit to the clinic and to avoid any unwanted accidents,” he said.

According to Dr Yii, since he was appointed as MP, his office has been continuously helping to address the needs of the clinic.

He added that in terms of costs, more than RM 220,000 had been allocated so far to the clinic to refurbish it, repaint the inside, upgrade the air-conditioning in the clinic, purchase dental and medical equipment and supplies, including building an outdoor awning.

“We just want to try our best to provide a better environment so that the medical staff can also provide better quality medical services to the people and patients,” he said. — DayakDaily
