KUCHING, Dec 27: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii has allocated RM68,000 to SK Lumba Kuda for renovations, upgrades and furniture this year.

He said the aid was for the benefit of the pupils, teachers and staff so that they could study and work in a more conducive environment.

“The allocation includes the purchasing of tables and chairs for the teachers and pupils, resurfacing and upgrading of the staff room and resurfacing the open court for the pupils for physical exercises and sports training,” he said in a statement.

Dr Yii noted that SK Lumba Kuda excelled in many kinds of sports, especially in netball, and thus he allocated some of his MP allocation to resurface the open court with the hope that the school could win more trophies in future and also promote a healthy lifestyle.

He said he actively monitored the progress of the repairs and upgrades done in the school, and that the headmaster and staff were grateful for the changes made.

“Education has always been something close to my heart, and I have been to most of the schools within my constituency to find out their needs and find ways to help with them, such as upgrades, repairs or renovations for the safety and security of the teachers and children.

“We want to provide a better and more conducive environment for the benefit of the students,” said Dr Yii. — DayakDaily
