MIRI, Sept 10: Residents of Bandar Baru Permyjaya Miri will be able to enjoy improved Internet quality once the installation of additional connection ports is completed in early 2022.

In disclosing this after visiting the residential area on Friday, Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the residents of the area will be able to enjoy fast and reliable high speed internet services after the installation is completed by the Telekom Malaysia Berhad.

“A total 2,800 ports will be created around the area and once this (installation) is completed it will not only benefit residents but also their children who are currently undergoing online learning (PdPR),” Lee explained.

A month ago, several requests have been made by residents in the area, seeking for Lee’s assistance to install more connection ports in the hopes of improving the Internet service.

“Most of the parents have expressed their worries and concerns that their children are struggling during their online learning session because of the poor Internet connectivity within the area,” Lee said.

He added that once the installations is completed, residents will be able to experience a much improved Internet connection. — DayakDaily
