KUCHING, Oct 29: A baby boy was found buried near a rented house along Jalan Airport, Kapit on Tuesday (Oct 27).
He was found alive but in critical condition while the suspect has already been identified, Kapit District Police Chief, DSP Rohana Nanu said, according to a TVS report.
She said police discovered the infant at about 2.30pm while conducting a search at the scene after hearing a baby crying.
“At that time, police officers heard the sound of a baby crying and found the infant buried in the ground,” she explained.
She noted that the baby will be transferred to Sibu Hospital for further treatment.
“So far, no arrests have been made as the identified suspect is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” she said.
She added that investigations are ongoing to determine the actual circumstances of the incident, and the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code. – DayakDaily
