SIBU, July 7: The Azman Hashim Foundation and Amcorp Group should be lauded for stepping forward so quickly to helping those in need.

Sibu Rural District Council chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai said he felt very proud of the corporate social responsibility programme undertaken by the group.

“As chairman of SRDC, it’s heartening to see corporate organisations coming to the assistance of the people,” he said.

While the government has been providing aid to the people, Sempurai said every bit of assistance from all quarters would go even further in relieving the burdens of the underprivileged.

“And this is not the first time Azman Hashim Foundation and Amcorp Group has contributed to the people,” Sempurai added.

Earlier this year, they donated sanitisation packs, which had been much welcomed.

For the most recent round of CSR, food aid in the form of a ten kilogram pack of rice, a box of instant noodles and a tray of eggs for each recipient were handed out to residents at Sibu Jaya’s HDC Garden Terraces and four-storey flats.

Sempurai also thanked local contractor Happiwin Development Sdn Bhd for providing the manpower and logistics for transporting and distributing the food aid.

“Happiwin Development has always been very caring and helpful to the council and the people,” he said.

Sempurai also thanked Sibu Jaya councillors Kong Yii Tee and Halimah Japar for being the lead coordinators in the food aid programme.

“SibuJaya is the most successful township because all parties are always working together as a team,” he said. ā€” DayakDaily
