Award-winning production designer to give talk at Unimas

KOTA SAMARAHAN, April 23: The 27th Malaysian Film Festival winner for Best Production Design will give a talk at the 15th Mini Film Festival at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) this coming Thursday, April 25.

“Tunku Taufek Mansur or better known as Tommy Mansur is well known for his touch of production design in Malaysian film industry,” said the film festival director Mohd Affendi.

Tommy won the award for the film “Men Who Save the World”. Other works he has done are for “Pulang”, “Hanyut” and “Lagenda Budak Setan 2”.


He also used to be an assistant to Ian Whittaker as a set dresser in “Anna and the King” which was nominated for an Oscar.

“From these works, we can see how important is Tommy’s role in incorporating his artistic talents into the films that he has been involved in,” said Mohd Affendi in a statement.

This talk and sharing session will be hosted at TV Studio, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Unimas. It aims to foster the creative spirit and also to share knowledge about the importance of organising art in films.

This talk consists of two sessions. The first will be held at 9am, while the second will be held at 2pm.

According to the organiser, the talk is open to the public for free.

However, the public is advised to book their ticket on Mini Film Festival’s Facebook event page.
