KUCHING, March 22: Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan was re-elected unopposed as chairman of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Sari branch during the branch’s general meeting in Lawas on Sunday.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, also re-elected unopposed were Awangku Zainal Abidin as deputy chairman and Haris Majid as vice chairman and 19 committee members with Talib Basir and Dayangku Norli Pengiran Terjudin leading the Youth and Women wings, respectively.
In his speech, he thanked everyone for their commitment to making the meeting a success.
Awang Tengah, who is also Sarawak Deputy Premier, said that Sarawak has the strength, spirit, commitment, and determination to ensure Sarawak gets transformed into a developed State by 2030.
“In 2020, Sarawak had received more than RM15.7 billion in foreign investment and was the highest recorded in Malaysia due to investors’ confidence in Sarawak’s stability,” he said.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah, who is also the assemblyman for Bukit Sari, hopes that the proposed integrated petrochemical investment in Lawas would be implemented, which will provide employment opportunities to the locals and improve Sarawak’s economy. — DayakDaily
