BAU, Sept 23: The process of NCR land surveying was an ongoing process and not a seasonal matter, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.

“The government recognises NCR land, but with proof, and the government will continue to survey such land upon request.

“For that reason the State government under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has allocated RM40 million for the purpose,” he pointed out.

Some 205 land titles under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code (SLC) were presented to landowners from Kampung Skibang, Kampung Senibung and Kampung Barieng Singai from Singai area today.

Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, who presented the titles, also officiated at the opening of the Task Biru Festival 2022.

He added that since 2010, a total of about one million hectares have been surveyed with over 800,000 hectares being gazetted.

Awang Tengah also said the participation of private investors was important for the development of an area.

He cited Tasik Biru, which have developed rapidly with the participation of a private company, Tectonic and Sons Sdn Bhd.

“I would say that private investors serve as the engine for growth of an area, so we need their participation,” he stressed.

Present was Deputy Minister of Transport II and Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep, who disclosed that 223 villages in Singai area have been gazetted involving total lots of 5,733.

“NCR land surveying and issuance of titles will continue and not only during elections,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodity and Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin and Bau district officer Anielia Siam. — DayakDaily
