Awang Tengah leads Sarawak delegation to meet Singaporean minister Low on possible trade collaboration

KUCHING, June 7: Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the Minister for International Trade and Investment (Mintred), today has met with Singapore’s Minister of State for Ministries of Trade and Industry (MTI) as well as Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), Low Yen Ling, during his official visit to Singapore.

According to a press release, during the meeting, Awang Tengah and Low discussed topics of common interests and possible collaborations, particularly over investment and trade where Singapore is an important partner to Sarawak due to close proximity and also Singapore’s importance in global trade.

The Sarawak’s delegation was joined by Mintred advisor Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Mintred acting permanent secretary Dzulkornain Mason and Mintred special function officer Datu Liaw Soon Eng.


Meanwhile, the Singaporean team was represented by MTI senior director (ASEAN & Southeast Asia and Oceania Division) Ho Chee Hin, MTI deputy director (Southeast Asia & Oceania Division) Melissa Lee, MTI senior assistant director (Southeast Asia & Oceania Division) Koh Liang Wei and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) senior manager James Chia. — DayakDaily
