A firefighter continues to spray the building to completely smothered any source of fire.

SIBU, Jan 3: An auto parts warehouse at Jalan Alan here was almost completely destroyed after being ravaged in an early morning fire today.

State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that its Operation Centre was alerted of the incident at 1.29am and a team of 12 firefighters from Sibu fire station led by operation commander Melvin Amuk was deployed to the scene.

“The blaze damaged about 70 per cent of the two-storey shoplot which is used as a storage for car parts and hardware materials.

“Firefighters could only defensively attack the fire from the exterior of the building due to safety factor. The area was covered with a thick layer of zinc wall,” the statement said.

No casualty was reported and firefighters later carried out an overhaul process of the area to ensure that there was no source for the flames to reignite.— DayakDaily
