KUCHING, Mar 12: About 500 Sarawakians who attended the religious event recently held in Selangor are advised to get in contact with the nearest government medical hospital or the health department after potentially being exposed to Covid-19.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) through its online social media page Sarawak Disaster Information in a statement yesterday, called for those who attended and the Tabligh gathering event in Seri Petaling Mosque in Selangor, between Feb 27 until March 1, 2020.

“It you know anyone has attended to the event, please contact the nearest government hospital or any local health department,” the statement said.

The statement was issued following the Ministry of Health claiming that a 60-year-old Malaysian was reported positive for Covid-19 who had attended the said religious gathering.

It was estimated that about 10,000 people from several countries attended the event, including Malaysians.
