KUCHING, Jan 29: Homegrown band At Adau is releasing its second album ‘Oba’.
The band, made up of six of Sarawak’s very own homegrown musicians, is again setting another memorable milestone not only for themselves but also for the state.
The album will be launched tomorrow (Jan 30) at Plaza Aurora.
It is hoped that through the release of the new album, At Adau will be bringing their cultural sounds and the fame of Sarawak to greater prominence.
At Adau has been a phenomenon. It has represented Sarawak in festivals in South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan, faithfully playing its part as the music ambassadors of Sarawak.
According to their press release, ‘Oba’ means ‘love’ in the Kenyah language.
Through their second album, they hope to share their love for their heritage, roots and culture with modern twists to the whole world.
Dreaming of being on stage performing to thousands of people in Europe one day is one of their dreams.
At Adau will also bring with them their partners, Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) and Malaysia Airlines (MAS), who have helped in making it possible for At Adau to perform in various music festivals in different countries. — DayakDaily
