KUCHING, Nov 29: Association of Churches Sarawak (ACS) secretary-general Elder Ambrose Linang, has confirmed the association’s participation in the upcoming TV Sarawak (TVS) Christmas programme.
Ambrose said that ACS is in support of the programme and wants it to be a success.
“We are all for it. It is all about us, so it is very important for us to participate in the programme so that it is a success, no matter what happens,” he told reporters at the press conference of the Kuching City Christmas Parade 2023.
Responding to inquiries about ACS’s participation amid recent issues, including the alleged exclusion of the song ‘O Holy Night’ and miscommunication, Ambrose clarified that the matter has been resolved.
ACS chairman Reverend Datuk Danald Jute has also confirmed the association’s commitment to partake in the TVS Christmas programme.
Last week, TVS came under heavy criticism after ACS issued a statement, saying that it would not be participating in the former’s Christmas programme after its requests for ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ to be replaced with the carol ‘O Holy Night’ were denied.
TVS then clarified that there was ‘no intention’ to exclude the song, as there had been a ‘miscommunication’ and that ‘O Holy Night’ would be included in the programme. — DayakDaily
