BEKENU, MAY 28: One of three suspects involved in an assault on the son of a journalist from a Malay-language daily has been detained for questioning.
The suspect, in his 20s , was picked up from a house in Bekenu on Thursday afternoon following a report lodged by the 19-year-old victim over the Tuesday night attack.
In the 8.30pm incident that occurred near Bekenu’s Rural Tranformation Centre (RTC), the victim and his friend were riding a motorcycle on their way to Kampung Dagang when they were cornered by a four-wheel-drive (4WD).
The victim sustained bruises to his face.
Following a police report lodged by the victim at Bekenu police station Wednesday on the incident, police on Thursday detained one of the three suspects for questioning.—DayakDaily
